We are looking to engage with partners who can assist us in our goal of reducing GHG 20% by 2030 and achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. As new technologies emerge, efficiencies will be gained and PepsiCo aims to remain at the forefront of best practices in the food and beverage industry. PepsiCo is seeking technologies to reduce GHGs in all aspects of the supply chain and manufacturing process. Solutions may be in one or more of the following areas: • Agriculture – sustainable farming and the reduction of GHG intensive fertilizers • Manufacturing – adopting energy efficient manufacturing processes; novel methods for utilizing waste; use of renewable thermal energy at scale • Packaging – alternative packaging materials and formats that reduce GHGs • Distribution – technologies to assist in the efficiency of our company-owned and third party fleet |

BACKGROUND P&G competes across many consumer-packed goods categories where malodor is a top consumer concern. We believe that incorporating volatile organic compound (VOC) adsorption technologies into products could serve our consumers’ needs for odor control. We have evaluated numerous adsorbent technologies and activated carbon fiber (ACF) is of particular interest. NEED DESCRIPTION We are seeking to consult and potentially partner with an expert in activated carbon fiber to understand the impact of precursors, processing conditions, and methods of incorporating ACF into textiles and/or nonwovens on volatile organic compound adsorption performance, durability, and large-scale manufacturability. As a first step, we are interested in the identified SME giving a seminar on the basics of ACF to educate the organization. Longer-term, we are interested in co-developing and testing various ACFs in our in vitro and in vivo methods to link the various parameters of ACFs to their odor control performance. Ancillary device for water rescue and lifesaving. This small, light device is worn as a waist bag and self-inflates by means of a CO2 cartridge just before making contact with the bather in distress. The device fits snugly around the lifesaver’s waist, generates no resistance for swimming and leaves their hands free in order to carry out preventive lifesaving tasks. Its strong buoyancy once inflated makes it suitable for rescuing heavy or multiple victims. |
New noble metal-free catalyst for the production of propylene oxide |

The Institute of Materials of the University of Alicante has developed a new and cost-effective catalyst without noble metals to obtain propylene oxide from the selective oxidation of propylene. The catalytic system is characterized by not making use of dangerous or highly contaminating agents, and by not producing high quantities of reaction by-products. In addition, it shows a high selectivity towards propylene epoxide in the selective oxidation of propylene. Companies interested in acquiring this technology for commercial exploitation are sought. |

Compared with typical CO2 tank delivery from distant CO2 production plants, Carbonator reduces the carbon footprint of beverage carbonation, eliminating the need to transport gas from a processing plant to the end-user. This provides beverage suppliers a competitive edge with environmentally conscious consumers. Carbonator also avoids the financial risk of CO2 supply shortages (like those seen in 2022). |
